What is Man?

A Vast Universe

The universe is a very large place, at least as far as we can understand its complexity. Within this universe are countless numbers of galaxies, each holding an uncountable number of stars. In reality, any such attempts at measurement are merely conjecture because man cannot comprehend such scope. Among such a maelstrom one singular galaxy does not appear to hold specific importance.

Change for the Better

Imperfections of Life

There are things our lives that we would like to change. We all have bad habits we would wish to break, choices we wish we had made differently, and other factors outside of our personal control which frustrate us. When one considers the reality of personal sin in light of the Bible’s teaching, this feeling of a need to change should grow exponentially. It is, of course, through Christ that any such change is possible, by being washed of His blood and conforming ourselves to the pattern of His life.

The Problem With Extremes

A World of Extremists

The world today is filled will all sorts of extremists focused upon a singular cause, such as the environment, a particular economic system, various religious beliefs, etc. Such extremes are manifest in various ways whether benign through activism or malevolent through violence. In seeing such extremism around us, one can begin to believe the world has become a truly polarized place.

Outlaws and Jesus Christ

An Outlaw

The term “outlaw” is commonly used today to describe someone who has broken the law of the land in some fashion and is wanted by the police. Not only was such a person wanted for acting “outside the law”, but they were also “outside of the law’s protection”.

I Want Justice

The Demands of Justice

In the over eleven years that I lived in California, I was called to jury duty multiple times and sat not on one, but two separate juries! Justice, law, and the rule of order are absolute necessities for a healthy, stable society. However, the demands of justice are sometimes more than man is really ready to face.
