In the church there can be much controversy over the use of Biblical translations. These can take different forms, sometimes even being demonstrated in a congregation emphasizing the use of one translation over the other. This emphasis can even reach the level of fellowship, although there is no Biblical support for such a practice.
Many people recognize the Pharisees as a group of Jews who opposed the ministry of Jesus Christ in the first century. While this is true, sometimes there is confusion as to why these people opposed Jesus, and why Jesus spoke against their false teaching.
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

This verse describes the Word of God as being more than a mere “rulebook” or “guide” to godly living, but instead having a true living power of its own.
