Overcoming Spiritual Fatigue

Physical Limits

As human beings we are physical creatures who succumb to the limitations of physical existence. We must have water and sustenance in order to subsist and continue living. We must take rest in order to regenerate our physical strength or risk collapse. The fatigue which comes from large amounts of physical activity is natural and necessary; it is a warning that our bodies need rest. While this is natural for our physical body, can this same concept be applied to our spiritual self as well?

Communication: The Nerves of the Body of Christ

Nervous System

In the physical body, the nervous system serves an important purpose in transmitting signals from the brain in order to control muscles and other parts of the body. The nervous system also serves the purpose of warning the brain of possible problems throughout the body through the signal of pain.

The Time Has Come

The move for our family to Utah is coming upon us all. With this imminent great change in our lives, there is a mixture of thoughts and a mixture of emotions. There is reflection upon the memories that we have collected from over 11 years here in Redding. There is the look ahead to what is to come, and the new opportunities of the future. There is also a blending of joy and sadness; a bittersweet feeling common to times of major change. It is with such a heart I want to wish our great thanks to all here in this congregation.
