True Bravery

Heroic Stories

A common theme of history, and of the great stories which have been passed down through generations, centers on heroes and their exploits. These heroes accomplish great deeds and exhibit the quality of great bravery. This bravery is often seen in the face of dangerous enemies or even great beasts, commonly a choice to face impossible odds and to turn aside from the temptation of fear.

Nothing Can Separate Us

A Powerful Promise

In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he described a powerful promise. This promise is meant to provide great comfort for Christians in the security that is found when one obeys the Gospel.

“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:37-39 (NASU)

What Can We Count On?

A Strange Correlation

There seems to be in life a strange correlation between needing a piece of equipment to do something immediately and that same piece of equipment failing completely. This has been called “Murphy’s Law” describing that when the worst can possibly happen, the worst will happen. On balance, this is more likely a perception problem. We seldom notice when equipment functions correctly, but we notice when it does not.
